This map serves out boundaries of financial-responsibility School Districts in New Jersey. Elementary, Secondary, and Unified School Districts are included. Most areas of the state are covered either by a Unified district, or by both an Elementary district and a Secondary district. The school districts covering Joint Base MDL in Burlington County are an exception. Details are available in the district layers metadata. The layers in this map service are based on high-quality municipal boundary data, published by the NJ Office of Information Technology, Office of GIS (NJOGIS), for the boundary locations; and on U.S. Census Bureau (TIGER) School District Boundaries for the group of municipalities to include in each district. Details of data development and currency can be obtained by searching for each spatial layer on the New Jersey Geographic Information Network (NJGIN).
